MC Mining Limited, formerly Coal of Africa Limited, is a coal exploration, development and mining company. The Development segment is engaged in establishing access to and commissioning facilities to extract, treat and transport production from the mineral reserve, and other preparations for commercial production. The Mining segment is involved in day-to-day activities of obtaining a saleable product from the mineral reserve on a commercial scale. Its principal assets and projects include the Vele Colliery, a semi soft coking and thermal coal mine; The Makhado, a hard coking and thermal coal project and four exploration and development stage coking and thermal coal projects, namely Chapudi, Generaal, Mopane, and Telema and Gray in the Soutpansberg Coalfield.
