The Company is engaged in securing, finding, developing, producing and selling hydrocarbons. The Company is focused on the shale gas play in the Karoo Basin in South Africa. The Karoo Basin is located in central and southern South Africa and contains organic rich shales of Permian age with combined thickness up to 5,000 feet. The Company's projects are located in the United States and South Africa. Its projects include Mercury Stetson Prospect and Cranmere. The Mercury Stetson Prospect contains two shale formations, including the Woodford and Barnett shales in geological extensions of the core producing areas in the Arkoma and Fort Worth Basins. The Mercury Stetson Prospect includes both the Barnett and Woodford shale formations in a single project area. Its Cranemere project is located in the Eastern Cape Province, north of the port city of Port Elizabeth.
