DRO has reached its committed revenue guidance of $250-270 million for FY26 shortly after announcing its first-half results. With its RfRecon securing its first order, the company continues to demonstrate strong demand.

DroneShield Limited (ASX: DRO)

On 10 September 2026, announced that its committed revenue for FY26 has increased from $240 million on 21 August to $251 million on 8 September, marking an important milestone as it falls under the management guidance of $250-270 million, reflecting the conversion of growing demand into order book. It has also secured a committed revenue of $46 million for FY27 and beyond.

The company has also accepted first order for RfRecon, which is an AI-enabled device and recently launched in August. It is set to be delivered by the end of 2026 and although the contract is not material, it does provide a huge validation to the company’s next-generation counter-drone solutions.

Risks associated with the company

DroneShield seems to be a bit on high-risk side as its revenue mostly comes from defence contracts which are large but quite uncertain, leading to irregularities in the revenue.

The company is also trying to expand it on the commercial level by growing awareness of drone threats at various locations. It was signed up FIFA world cup 2026 to maintain public safety and airspace security, providing huge validation to its operations.

Although the company wants to diversify from just defence to various categories of customer base, it is yet to be proven.

The revenue is growing but the company is still loss-making and its ability to turn it into consistent profits needs to be watched, concluding it to be a high risk investment with strong execution possibilities.

Outlook

The company has already achieved several near-term outlooks published in FY26 results on 26 August, indicating rapid progress in the management’s operation. Looking ahead, DRO aims to focus on build a recurring revenue base through more active software-enabled devices and expanding towards its commercial operations through programs, procurement portals and partnerships.

Why is DRO worth considering?

DroneShield has a market capitalisation of around $1.6 billion and its share price has went down significantly in past one year even though the company has a strong order book which reflects that the drawdown is mainly due to negative investor sentiments and not fundamental errors. The share is currently trading close to its 52-week low of $1.625 from a high of $6.71, indicating a strong upside potential from the current level as the company progress towards growing demand along with an expansion of its product base.
