Should you be considering an investment of $1,000 in Australia, the following three possibilities are available to you: world markets through BGBL, technology and logistics through WiseTech, and the copper industry through Capstone Copper.

BetaShares Global Shares ETF (BGBL) is worth considering if you want to invest $1,000 in the Australian market and build wealth over time. It gives you exposure to more than 1,000 companies across over 20 developed countries, excluding Australia. This includes well-known businesses such as Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and NVIDIA. Instead of putting all your money into one company, you spread your investment across many global businesses through a single ETF. This can help diversify your portfolio and reduce reliance on the Australian sharemarket.

Yet another benefit of BGBL is that it has low management fees of only 0.08% annually, which translates into 80 cents on a thousand dollars per annum. This type of bond fund is ideal for people who can withstand market volatility and have a long-term investment horizon. However, returns are not guaranteed and currency movements can affect your investment.

WiseTech Global Limited (ASX: WTC), on 26 August 2026, reported FY26 revenue of $1,395.9 million, up 79%, and EBITDA of $585.8 million, up 54%. Underlying net profit was $313.5 million. CargoWise revenue grew 11% to $756.9 million.

The company achieved around $115 million in annual cost savings. Operating cash flow reached $564 million, while research and development spending rose to $340.7 million. More than 95% of CargoWise customers adopted Value Packs.

For FY27, WiseTech expects revenue of $1.48–$1.54 billion and underlying EBITDA of $725–$780 million. The final dividend increased 14% to 8.8 cents per share, fully franked.

The company plans to improve its products using AI and make logistics work faster and more efficient. It also aims to grow its business and improve profit margins in FY27.

Capstone Copper Corp (ASX: CSC), on 21 September 2026, announced the sale of its Cozamin mine in Mexico to Luca Mining Corp. for total consideration of up to US$385 million. The deal includes US$275 million upfront cash, US$15 million in shares, US$35 million deferred payment and up to US$60 million linked to copper prices. The sale will strengthen the company’s balance sheet and fund growth projects.

On 31 August 2026, Capstone completed the acquisition of San Pietro copper assets in Chile for US$25M in shares. The project adds around 16,000 hectares of land and an inferred mineral resource of 492 million tonnes, grading 0.23% copper and 0.05 g/t gold.

The company plans to combine San Pietro with nearby assets to develop its Atacama copper district. Capstone Copper will release its third-quarter results on 29 October 2026.
