DXN Limited (ASX: DXN), on 30 October 2026, released its September 2026 quarterly update. Revenue rose 380% to A$3.4 million from A$0.7 million last year, as delayed projects moved forward. During the quarter, DXN won more than A$19 million in new contracts including projects for Melbourne Airport, the Solomon Islands and Globalstar. Its total project backlog also grew to A$30.8 million, up from A$23.5 million in June 2026. These contract wins marked an improvement in commercial activity across its data centre, telecommunications and infrastructure operations.

Cancellation Impact

DXN shares fell approximately 50% following the announcement on 30 October 2026, as investors reacted to the potential cancellation of its maiden AI high-performance computing (HPC) contract. The A$8.8 million agreement with a US-listed neo-cloud customer is at risk after the customer changed its business strategy. The larger follow-on campus opportunity is also unlikely to proceed. Although the cancellation has not been finalised, DXN expects to receive approximately A$4.2 million, equal to 48% of the original contract value, for completed work and committed costs. The customer has not disputed these amounts. Only A$0.1 million in revenue was recognised during Q1 FY27, with most of the expected payment due to be recognised in Q2 FY27. Meanwhile, DXN secured a separate A$12.2 million contract for a 2MW turnkey AI HPC modular data centre, with delivery expected in early 2027.

Financial Position

DXN closed the September quarter with approximately A$6.4 million in cash, against A$11 million at 30 June 2026. Net operating cash flow stood at negative A$4.7M compared with a positive A$0.8 million in the previous quarter. The movement mainly resulted from manufacturing and operating expenses linked to project execution, additional staff appointments and annual bonus payments. The company stated that cash flow would have been positive A$2.2 million if customer payments had arrived on schedule. Those delayed receipts were subsequently collected in October, bringing the cash balance to A$11.1 million as at 28 October 2026. This provides additional funds to support ongoing project delivery and business operations.

Growth Plans

DXN expects to achieve A$11 million in revenue during 1H FY27, compared with A$2.7 million in the previous corresponding period. Production at its temporary Seven Hills, NSW facility is scheduled to commence in Q2 FY27. The company is also progressing a permanent domestic manufacturing facility, its Malaysian expansion and an Indonesian joint venture. These locations are targeted to become fully operational by the end of Q3 FY27, taking manufacturing capacity to roughly six times the current Welshpool, WA level. Its pipeline includes 93 identified projects, with 13% in final negotiations or verbal win and contracting stages. Pipeline value increased 115% compared with Q4 FY26, while AI opportunities account for 28% of projects. DXN's priorities include completing existing orders, expanding production capacity and converting its growing pipeline into new contracts and revenue.
