Nova Minerals Corp (ASX: NVA) announced on 28 October 2026 that it had received final approvals from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources for its Plan of Operations and Reclamation Plan.
The approvals complete the permitting process for its Alaska antimony project and clear the way for construction and production is targeted in 2027.
The company secured the approvals within approximately three months of submitting its applications which is a major milestone in its efforts to establish a domestic antimony supply chain in the US.
The permits cover the full development process which includes stibnite mining at the Styx and Stibium prospects as well as ore sorting and processing at the Whiskey Bravo concentration site within the Estelle Project and downstream processing and refining at Port Mackenzie in Alaska.
The approvals authorise construction and operational activities across this integrated development pathway for an initial term of three years.
Nova has fully funded its Phase 1 development program through a US$43.4 million award from the US Department of War which has an aim to support domestic production capacity for military-grade antimony trisulfide.
The funding is expected to help establish a domestic supply chain for a mineral that has an important role in US defence applications.
The company has also completed process plant engineering and metallurgical test work which has established a processing flowsheet designed to produce military-grade antimony trisulfide and standard Grade II antimony metal. The planned antimony metal product is expected to achieve a purity level of more than 99.65% antimony.
Nova has procured and delivered all major long-lead and critical mining and processing equipment to the project locations which will prepare the project for construction.
