Top 3 ASX ETFs to buy amid RBA rate hike and market rotation

The current interest rate environment and macroeconomic uncertainty have kept financial markets on edge and these three ASX ETFs offer opportunities to navigate the changing market conditions.
VanEck Australian Banks ETF (ASX: MVB) is a good pick in the current dynamic as it will give exposure to seven ASX banks and financial institutions. It is designed to track the MVIS Australia Banks Index before fees and other costs.
Australia's four major banks, ANZ, NAB, Westpac and Commonwealth Bank, make up approximately 80.2% of the portfolio while Macquarie Group accounts for another 17.3%.
The ETF has an annual management fee of 0.28% and distributions are paid three times a year.
Australian banks have historically paid higher levels of franked income than companies in other sectors. The fund achieved annualised returns reached 19.74% over three years and 11.87% over the past five years.
MVB could be an attractive option amid the RBA's rate tightening cycle and the shift towards financial stocks because it provides concentrated exposure to Australia's major banks and offers the potential to benefit from higher interest margins.
Betashares Australian Financials Sector ETF (ASX: QFN) will give exposure to 28 of Australia's largest listed financial companies which include major banks and insurance companies as well as other financial service providers but exclude property trusts.
Insurance companies can benefit from higher interest rates because they earn more income when they invest the premiums collected from their customers.
The ETF has an annual management fee of 0.34% and pays distributions twice a year with a 12-month distribution yield of 2.2% and a gross yield of 3%.
QFN had achieved annualised returns of 17.67% over three years as of September 2026. QFN offers a convenient way to invest in a broad range of Australian financial companies without the need to select individual bank or insurance stocks.
iShares Edge MSCI Australia Minimum Volatility ETF (ASX: MVOL) has an aim to provide exposure to Australian shares with lower overall volatility than the broader Australian equity market which makes it suitable for investors who prefer a more defensive approach to equity investing in current environment.
The fund has 95 companies across several sectors. Its largest holdings include BHP Group, Telstra, ANZ and Transurban.
The portfolio has its largest sector exposure to financials and materials. It also has exposure to industrials and several other sectors which reduces its reliance on any single industry.
The ETF has an annual management fee of 0.30%. It also offered a trailing 12-month yield of 3.06% with distributions paid twice a year.
Its annualised returns stood at 11.77% over three years and 7.55% over five years. MVOL selects stocks based on their volatility characteristics to limit the impact of market downturns and help investors remain invested through changing market conditions.
