Xero Limited (ASX: XRO)
On 14 May 2026, shared a strong FY26 result with revenue rising 31% to $2.8 billion. Adjusted EBITDA also increased 18%, showing continued growth and operating efficiency. Free cash flow was $554 million.
Customer momentum remained strong during the year. XRO added 506,000 customers, while annualised monthly recurring revenue increased 37% to $3.3 billion. Australia and New Zealand continued to grow steadily, while international markets delivered stronger expansion, particularly the US and UK.
Xero continued investing in AI across its platform. JAX expanded globally, while smart document capture helped customers reduce manual work. The company also announced XeroForce, a new tool allowing customers to create custom AI agents for finance and accounting tasks. Partnerships with Anthropic and OpenAI further strengthened its AI plans.
For FY27, Xero expects revenue and adjusted EBITDA to grow further. The company also authorised share purchases to offset dilution from employee share-based compensation.
Macquarie Group Ltd (ASX: MQG)
On 23 July 2026, gave an update on its first quarter of FY27 and covering the three months to 30 June 2026. Trading conditions were satisfactory. Asset Management’s profit contribution fell from the previous year after the sale of its North American and European public investments business.
Banking and Financial Services recorded higher profit contribution, helped by growth in loans and deposits, although lower margins partly reduced the benefit. Commodities and Global Markets performed strongly, supported by better Commodities activity and higher Asset Finance income. Macquarie Capital also reported growth from investment-related and brokerage income.
At 30 June 2026, assets under management stood at $748b and deposits reached $223.3b. The Bank Group’s CET1 capital ratio increased to 13.8 per cent from 12.8 per cent at 31 March 2026.
MQG kept a cautious outlook, citing economic conditions, interest rates, market volatility, geopolitical events, foreign exchange and possible tax or regulatory changes.
