Meeka Metals Limited (ASX: MEK)
Meeka Metals Limited (ASX: MEK) continues to achieve strong exploration results at its Murchison Gold Project, with recent drilling at St Anne’s and Turnberry reinforcing the project’s high-grade potential and near-term production outlook. On 21 January 2025, the company reported thick, high-grade gold intercepts, including 33m @ 3.07g/t Au and 10m @ 52.79g/t Au at St Anne’s, with multiple results exceeding 1oz per tonne. These results support the expansion of the Stage 1 open pit, with updated mineral resource modelling well advanced and mining contractors scheduled to mobilize in February 2025 ahead of production commencement in March. Drilling at Turnberry returned 10m @ 15.71g/t Au, highlighting a new western gold zone outside the Stage 1 pit, which presents significant growth potential. High-grade intercepts of 23m @ 26.73g/t Au from St Anne’s further bolster the resource profile. Additional assays from the December 2024 drilling program are expected soon, with further drilling ongoing to expand resources and enhance production plans.
Progress on infrastructure is advancing steadily, with the construction of a 20km haul road, process plant upgrades, and relocation of the ball mill to Murchison all well underway. The company is also nearing completion of accommodation and administration facilities and has begun re-accessing the Andy Well underground mine. These developments align with Meeka’s updated Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS), which is being revised to reflect increased production capacity. In 2025, Meeka’s focus will shift toward finalizing the grade control program, commissioning the process plant, and tendering for open pit mining contracts. Ongoing drilling will target further depth extensions at Andy Well and continued growth at Turnberry. Management also noted improved grades in sparsely drilled areas west of Turnberry South, where follow-up drilling is planned to explore shallow oxide expansion opportunities.
These results and infrastructure developments highlight the strong production potential of the Murchison Project. With consistently high-grade gold intercepts, expanding resources, and advancing construction, Meeka Metals is well-positioned to deliver significant production growth in the near term.
Nova Minerals Limited (ASX: NVA)
Nova Minerals Limited (ASX: NVA) recently announced promising results from their 2024 exploration at the Wombat prospect, where high-grade gold was discovered in quartz veins. Rock sampling at Wombat showed exceptional results, including seven samples above 2 g/t Au, with the highest reading at 360 g/t Au. In addition, multi-element analysis revealed high-grade gallium, with one sample reaching 74.5 ppm Ga. Gallium is a critical mineral, especially important for the U.S. Department of Defense, which is working to secure a domestic supply following China’s export ban. The gold and critical minerals found at Wombat, along with gold, silver, copper, and antimony anomalies at the nearby Stoney Vein, highlight the growing potential of the Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals project. Stoney Vein is particularly notable for its massive exposure, measuring 10 meters in width and extending over 1 kilometer in strike length. Nova continues to explore these promising areas, with additional surficial mapping and sampling underway at RPM.
Nova’s 2024 exploration program extended high-grade mineralization at several other prospects on the Estelle claim block. Notably, the Muddy Creek prospect saw a substantial extension of its high-grade gold zone, with assays showing gold grades as high as 128.5 g/t Au. The Styx prospect revealed a significant antimony-gold outcrop, with samples returning up to 54.1% Sb and 9.8 g/t Au. Meanwhile, the Stibium prospect confirmed an extensive antimony-rich zone, with up to 56.7% Sb and several samples exceeding 30% Sb. Gold grades in the Stibium area also reached up to 141 g/t Au. These results from Muddy Creek, Styx, and Stibium further solidify the Estelle claim block as a major hub for both gold and critical mineral exploration. Nova is continuing its work to define drill targets and unlock the full potential of these discoveries.
