(GOOGL), headquartered in Mountain View, California, is one of the world’s most influential technology conglomerates, with established dominance in market shares across internet services, digital advertising, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. Originally founded as Google, the company has transformed from a simple search engine to a diversified holding group operating under an umbrella of sorts. Best known for its dominant position in online search and digital advertising, Alphabet has also simultaneously expanded into cloud services, hardware, autonomous vehicles (Waymo) and cutting-edge AI (DeepMind) through well-timed expansions and acquisitions. Especially with regards to artificial intelligence, Alphabet remains at the very forefront of the field whilst also maintaining a competitive edge. The aforementioned DeepMind division has been consistently pushing boundaries in areas such as reinforcement learning, protein folding (AlphaFold), and large language models. The company, hence, has integrated generative AI and advanced models like Gemini across its core products line including, but not limited to, Search, Workspace, Google Cloud, and Android, with the stated goal of building and integrating AI across its wide variety of services to its humongous user base. With its eyes on expanding the enormous data ecosystem, combined with pioneering AI research and infrastructure, Alphabet remains a central piece in the giant AI-powered internet economy, firmly positioned at the crossroads as one of the deciding players. Not having Alphabet as part of the AI portfolio is a gambit not worth the risk.
