Top ASX Stocks Hitting 52 Week Highs: PRU, GNG & SFR
These shares are trading around their 52-week highs, supported by strong results, new contracts, exploration success and good returns for shareholders.
Perseus Mining Limited (ASX: PRU)
Reported FY26 profit after tax of $480.5 million, up 14%. Revenue was $1.484 billion, improved 19% and EBITDA reached $860.5 million. Earnings per share rose to 31.7 A$ cents and operating cash flow increased to $666.4 million.
As at 30 June 2026, PPC had $1.03 billion in cash and bullion. This included $924.1 million cash and 27,299 ounces of bullion. It also had an unused $400 million debt facility.
The company declared a final dividend of 9.0 A$ cents per share. This took the full-year dividend to 14.0 A$ cents, up 87%. The ex-dividend date is 7 September and payment will be made on 7 October 2026.
Perseus plans to buy back up to A$350 million of its shares from around 24 September 2026. It also plans to give shareholders another A$100 million from the money received from selling the Meyas Sands project.
GR Engineering Services Limited (ASX: GNG)
Announced on 26 August 2026 that it secured binding commitments for a $100 million institutional placement. New shares are priced at $6.10, with settlement on 1 September and allotment expected on 2 September. Shares are expected to resume trading on 26 August.
The company will also offer eligible Australian and New Zealand shareholders an SPP of up to $10 million. Applications can be made for up to $30,000 per shareholder at $6.10, without brokerage or transaction costs. The offer is valid from 2 September to 23 September with allotment anticipated on 30 September.
As of 24 August 2026, FY26 sales were $493.2 million and EBITDA at $63.1 million. The pre tax profit at $57.6 million. FY26 total dividends stood at 25.0 cents per share, fully franked. FY27 sales forecast stands at $825 million to $850 million.
Since 1 April 2026, GNG secured over $1b in contracts. More than 90% of high-end FY27 revenue is contracted, while over 60% is expected from commodities other than gold.
Sandfire Resources Limited (ASX: SFR)
Announced on 26 August 2026 exploration results from near mine prospects at its MATSA and Motheo hubs. At Magdalena West, mineralisation was extended and remains open down plunge. La Juliana returned high-grade polymetallic massive sulphide mineralisation, while A1 Extension and A4 West showed further high-grade results.
At MATSA, 46 holes covering 27,971.6m were completed at Masa 2 West and Masa Olivo, plus four holes covering 2,596.2m at La Juliana. Significant assays came from 27 of 50 holes. La Juliana hole CCM-90 returned 14.4m at 0.4% Cu, 14.5% Zn, 4.4% Pb, 0.6g/t Au and 158.1g/t Ag.
At Motheo, seven A1 holes covered 2,044.7m and three A4 West holes covered 2,296.05m. Significant assays were confirmed in nine of 10 holes, including A1RD229 with 10m at 5.3% Cu and 111.6g/t Ag.
Follow-up drilling and downhole electromagnetic work at La Juliana is planned for H1 FY27 to test extensions and assess future Mineral Resource growth.
