Key August ASX Results to Watch: BHP, CSL & NST:
Australiaβs major companies shared their latest updates, showing steady growth, strong financial performance and continued efforts to improve operations, support customers, expand projects, and create long term value.
BHP Group Limited (ASX: BHP)
BHP Group Limited (ASX: BHP), on 13 July 2026, had released its operational review for the year ended 30 June 2026. The company achieved record iron ore production and about 2 Mt of copper production for the second straight year.
Copper prices increased by about 35% compared to last year. Unit costs remained in line with expectations despite high inflation and fuel prices.
The company signed agreements with Faraday Copper, explored cooperation with Sierra Gorda SCM and continued battery electric haul truck trials with Rio Tinto and Caterpillar.
BHP progressed copper growth projects including Vicuna, Cerro Colorado and Copper South Australia. Jansen in Canada remains on track to begin potash production next year.
CSL Limited (ASX: CSL)
CSL Limited (ASX: CSL) is set to begin clinical trials for its Horizon 2 plasma fractionation technology in the year 2027 with the intention of creating more immunoglobulins using the same amount of plasma.
It is anticipated that the clinical trials will commence mid 2027 with plasma obtained from the Broadmeadows site. It will run alongside the expansion of the Kankakee manufacturing site.
On 29 June 2026, CSL updated investors on TAVNEOS in the European Union after the EMA committee recommended revoking its marketing authorisation.
The European Commission will make the final decision. Meanwhile, CSL expects to stop starting new patients in EU and EEA markets, with FY26 TAVNEOS sales expected at about $145 million.
Northern Star Resources Limkted (ASX: NST)
Northern Star Resources Limkted (ASX: NST), on 29 July 2026, released its June 2026 Quarterly Report. FY26 gold sold reached 1,543koz at an AISC of A$2,698/oz, within guidance with A$206 million underlying free cash flow and A$443 million net mine cash.Β
June quarter gold sold totalled 433,482oz at an AISC of A$2,651/oz. KCGM Mill Expansion Stage 1 commissioning started on schedule, with Stage 2 expected in late 1H FY27. Cash and bullion were A$1,235 million.Β
FY27 guidance will be announced on 20 August 2026.
