Is DroneShield Facing a Temporary Setback?
With DroneShield’s share price sliding dramatically, many investors are wondering does the stock still deserve a place in their portfolios?
DroneShield Limited (ASX: DRO)
saw its share price dip sharply on 13 November even though the company’s fundamentals and its global defence position is still strong.
The company issued a formal response that it was not aware of any undisclosed information that could explain the sharp fall in its share price and confirmed that the company remains fully compliant with continuous disclosure rules.
The disclosure of director share disposals have likely triggered the market reaction instead of any new operational developments.
The company had put out an update saying it secured around $7.6 million in new U.S. government contracts but later this was taken back because U.S. authorities questioned the information and then said these weren’t new orders at all, just older contracts that were mistakenly shown as new due to what it called an administrative error.
Earlier in the month, the company hit a major internal milestone as 44.45 million performance options vested after the company exceeded $200 million in cash receipts within a rolling 12-month period.
The vesting of these options resulted in share price pressure at that time as well due to the market fearing dilution but the options were performance-based and tied directly to commercial milestones.
DroneShield said that the total number of new options issued will not exceed 1% of its issued share capital which will protect shareholders from any significant dilution.
They have also secured a $25.3 million contract in Latin America which will be delivered and paid across Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.
The company delivered a phenomenal performance in 3Q25 with revenue of $92.9 million which is a massive jump from only $7.8 million in the same quarter last year.
Cash receipts were $77.4 million and the company turned operating cash flow positive at $20.1 million after being negative last year for the same quarter.
DroneShield is well placed to withstand the short-term turbulence and continue to build scale and credibility as a leading counter-drone and electronic warfare company.
