CLINUVEL is shifting its focus towards the U.S. as it looks to unlock its next phase of growth. The potential Nasdaq transition, strong balance sheet and expanding pipeline provide a solid foundation for the road ahead.

CLINUVEL Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: CUV)

On 27 August 2026, published its full year result for FY26, highlighting a maintained track record of profitability despite softer overall conditions. Revenue for the year went down by 1% to $94 million for the ordinary activities while the revenue including interest and other income was reported at $101 million, making the second year of reaching above $100 million. PBT slipped down by 8% to $48 million while NPAT also fell by 6% to $34 million. The company incurred total expenses of $53 million for the year with an increase in cash reserves by 12% to $252 million.

The company maintained its streak of returning capital to shareholders by declaring a 5cps dividend payout. The company’s leverage position improved as the total liabilities went down significantly by 22% to $22 million while also remaining debt-free, strengthening its financial flexibility for future investments. CUV also marked a major corporate milestone as it completed its Nasdaq Level II ADS uplisting on 20 July and now the board is considering a full Nasdaq listing and potential delisting from ASX, providing better reach to the company. The market capitalisation of company stands around $462.92 million.

Melanocortin platform, led by SCENESSE (afamelanotide 16mg) stays at the core of CLINUVEL’s business and is commercially distributed for erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP) across Europe, the U.S., Canada, Israel and Australia. The company is continuously progressing towards the expansion of its North American presence, with direct distribution through 129 U.S. and 5 Canadian centres, while targeting 190 centres by 2027. The U.S. already accounts for more than 43% of global EPP revenues. Beyond SCENESSE, the pipeline includes vitiligo programs, NEURACTHEL, and the VLRX-L controlled-release peptide platform which broadens the company’s potential product portfolio.

Looking ahead, CUV’s primary focus revolves around its further growth through expansion of its operations in U.S. along with an increase in management presence and a planned relocation of its head office from Australia to U.S. from 1 January 2027. The company is directing its funds across various segments by investing in its Singapore R&D facility along with the company’s manufacturing and supply-chain integration, and next-generation peptide technologies. Phase III vitiligo topline data is expected to be out in December 2026 alongside further regulatory filings for SCENESSE and NEURACTHEL. With a debt-free balance sheet, sufficient cash reserves and more than four years of operating cash runway, CLINUVEL enters its next phase with substantial financial flexibility to support its pipeline and U.S. expansion.
