Pacific Edge has made strategic gains in its effort to restore Medicare coverage for Cxbladder. Despite lower volumes in the US, key evidence and policy milestones suggest momentum is building. The coming Medicare meeting and appeal hearings are crucial turning points.

Pacific Edge Limited (ASX: PEB)

Pacific Edge Limited (ASX: PEB) shared growth toward restoring Medicare coverage for its Cxbladder tests in their most recent quarterly report. The company highlighted an upcoming Medicare Administrative Contractor meeting on 20 February which is important because these meetings often precede new or revised coverage decisions. A positive outcome could lead to a new Local Coverage Determination, which would make Medicare reimbursement more predictable for Cxbladder.

PEB also confirmed that a real-world study showing Cxbladder Triage’s clinical value has been accepted for publication and strengthening the evidence base used in Medicare discussions. This is important because stronger clinical proof can help persuade decision makers that the test is medically necessary. Also, Pacific Edge noted progress in Medicare appeals for denied Cxbladder Triage claims with the first hearing scheduled for 24 February, suggesting the company is actively challenging coverage denials.

Total test volume fell by 13.4% to 5,446 in Q3 FY26 mainly due to seasonal holiday slowdowns and ongoing reimbursement uncertainty affecting demand in the US. US volumes dropped almost 20% whereas APAC grew by 9.7% to 1,443 tests driven by higher commercial testing in that region. This suggests stronger demand where reimbursement and commercial pathways are more stable.

Positive momentum also includes endorsement from a major US diagnostic intelligence provider covering over 44 million lives indicating broader recognition of the test’s clinical value. Through a new chair in place, PEB aims to convert these milestones into durable Medicare policy, which would significantly improve long term revenue visibility.
