These shares are trading near their 52-week highs, helped by positive company updates, strong project progress, exploration results, funding support and upcoming development milestones attracting investor interest.

FMR Resources Limited (ASX: FMR)

On 9 September 2026, announced the Esperanza IP survey at the La Lorena Project in Chile. Three chargeability features were identified. IP Anomaly 1 is the priority drill target beneath historical workings, within the Esperanza I HeliMAG anomaly, with its central area about 500m below surface. A porphyritic intrusive outcrop is about 500m southeast. IP Anomalies 2 and 3 provide additional targets at Esperanza II and north of Gatica. Full 3D IP inversion and refined HeliMAG modelling remain pending.

On 1 September 2026, preliminary 3D IP inversion at La Martuca refined several chargeability features. One is associated with known mineralised structures, while L102 identified an anomaly beneath their interpreted strike extension, strengthening toward L103-L104.

First-pass drilling is planned for at least 2,000m over 10-12 weeks. Approvals were submitted, Big Bear Drilling SpA was awarded the contract, and mobilisation is planned within four weeks. Line L101 and site preparation await snow clearance, with drilling planned for Q4 2026.

Sunrise Energy Metals Limited (ASX: SRL)

On 8 September 2026, released its 2026 Annual Report, noting completion of the Syerston Scandium Project Feasibility Study in early 2026. The company expects scandium oxide demand to grow exponentially by 2035 mainly from AI data centre fuel cells, defence, aerospace and next generation semiconductors. Three equity placements raised about A$98 million for pre-construction work.

In October 2025, Sunrise announced conditional U.S. EXIM Bank debt support of up to US$67 million. In August 2026, it announced a conditional U.S. Department of War OSC commitment of up to US$400 million. Commissioning is targeted for 1H28, with initial capacity of 60 tonnes per year.

Scandium applications include AI power generation, 5G/6G communications, aerospace and defence 3D-printed aluminium components, and semiconductor memory, photo-optics and sensors. Lockheed Martin has an option for 15 tonnes annually for five years, subject to formalising terms.

Tungsten Mining NL (ASX: TGN)

On 10 September 2026, announced that its 100% owned Watershed Tungsten Project in Far North Queensland is now fully permitted for mining and production. The milestone follows the June 2026 PEE, which reported a pre tax NPV8 of A$1.31 billion and pre-tax IRR of 198%. The DFS is planned for October 2026 with FID shortly after and first production targeted for H1 2027.

Early construction work has started with up to 60 people on site. Activities include drilling, site establishment, water-bore and geotechnical work, environmental and heritage surveys, access-road development and approved clearing. Accommodation is being expanded for 100+ personnel by end-September and 200+ by end-November.

In September 2026, the Mt Mulgine PFS reported a +21-year, 8 Mtpa mine plan, process design, infrastructure modelling and AACE Class 3/4 cost estimate. NVCP approval is imminent, while MDCP is targeted for January 2027. Water drilling is underway with promising early results and an 8 Mtpa sourcing strategy defined.
