With September bringing dividend payouts from several prominent Australian companies, investors have another opportunity to track income-generating stocks. This blog highlights Ampol, Viva Energy Group and Fortescue, focusing on their upcoming dividends and what they could mean for investors.

Ampol Limited (ASX: ALD)

Announced its first half results on 24 August 2026, reporting strong performance as Group RCOP EBITDA jumped significantly by 152% to $1.63 billion from $648.9 million in the prior corresponding period.

Group RCOP EBIT rose by around 245% to $1.39 billion, majorly due to an outstanding performance in Fuels & Infrastructure EBIT, increasing by around 859% in a year from $118.3 million in 1H25 to $1.13 billion in the first half of FY26.

ALD has a market capitalisation of approximately $10.26 billion with a stable dividend yield of 5.68%, supported by a dividend announcement alongside the results, reporting a fully franked dividend payout of $1.85 per share with ex-dividend date of 4 September and the payment to be made on 30 September 2026.

The company’s recent acquisition of EG Australia also marked as a major step in delivering Ampol’s strategy by strengthening its retail network and enhancing segmented customer offer, making it an attractive investment opportunity for investors looking for long-term growth with regular income.

Viva Energy Group Limited (ASX: VEA)

On 25 August 2026, announced its half results for FY26, reflecting strong performance as the Group EBITDA (RC) surged around 154% to $774.4 million from $304.9 in the prior corresponding period.

EBIT (RC) for the group jumped significantly during the year to $616.1 million from $176 million, an increment of 250% on pcp. The strong results were majorly supported by the Energy & Infrastructure division, with an exceptional EBITDA (RC) growth of 1822% to $353.7 million, reflecting outstanding performance.

The company has a market capitalisation of approximately $4.86 billion with a dividend yield of 3.94%. It has also announced a fully franked dividend of 7.73cps with an ex-dividend date of 4 September and payable on 30 September 2026.

VEA has improved its balance sheet strength by reducing its net debt by $354.8 million to around $1.7 billion, reflecting strong operations and cash flow generation, making it an ideal choice for investors seeking regular income with long-term growth.

Fortescue Limited (ASX: FMG)

Announced its June ending full year FY26 results on 20 August 2026, demonstrating record iron ore shipments of 201.3Mt and an industry-leading Hematite C1 unit cost of US$18.74/wet metric tonne (wmt).

Underlying EBITDA for the year rose by 9% to US$8.6 billion with an EBITDA margin of 51%. Underlying NPAT for the year increased by 3% to US$3.5 billion. The operating performance also remained positive with net cash flow of US$6.8 billion and free cash flow of $3.2 billion after investing $3.2 billion in capex.

FMG has a market capitalisation of around $54.49 billion with an attractive dividend yield of 6.1%. The company has also announced a fully franked dividend of 46cps with an ex-date of 1 September and the final payment date of 29 September 2026.
