Two leading healthcare companies, Pro Medicus and Sonic Healthcare Limited has recently published their FY26 results, highlighting business performance, growth prospects and key developments.

Sonic Healthcare Limited (ASX: SHL)

On 20 August 2026, published its FY26 results, reflecting a resilient growth as the revenue increased by 13% to reach $10.8 billion, complemented by an underlying EBITDA growth of 11% from $1.7 billion in FY25 to $1.9 billion in FY26.

The growth got carried down the line resulting in underlying NPAT of $608 million, an increment of 17% compared to previous year. Cash generations also remained strong during the year, reporting an improved operating cash flow of $1.4 billion.

The company has a market capitalisation of around $9.96 billion with an attractive dividend yield of 5.52%, supported by a final dividend of 63cps to be paid on 17 September, totalling the full-year payout to $1.08 per share.

The company also took initiatives to modernise its digital platform by integrating AI to improve productivity.

Looking ahead, the company expects to continue its organic growth with slight improvement in EBITDA. It also plans on expanding its operations with continued investment in AI to smoothen its workflow, positioning it well for an investor seeking long-term stable returns with regular income.

Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME)

On 21 August 2026, announced that its wholly owned U.S. subsidiary has signed a 7-year $25 million contract with Valley Health which includes 6 hospitals, spanning the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. This will provide an improved care to their patients and help in improving the health of the region.

Earlier on 18 August, the company announced its full year results, reflecting strong growth as revenue increased by 22.9% from $213 million in FY25 to $261.7 million in FY26. Underlying EBIT and underlying NPAT also improved by around 24% both, reflecting impressive operational performance.

The company has a market capitalisation of around $17.71 billion and has announced a fully franked final dividend payout of 37 cps to be paid on 29 September, totalling the full year payout of 69 cps which shows management confidence in cash generation.

Growth during the year was primarily driven by North American and European region while Austalia showed weaker sentiments. The company won 10 new and 6 recurring contracts during the year, which showcases solid services and client retention capabilities.

Looking ahead, the company will be focusing on servicing its contracts along with increased implementation of AI in its operations, making it an attractive investment opportunity for investors seeking returns in the long-term.
