Titomic Limited (ASX: TTT)

Titomic Limited (ASX: TTT), a global leader in cold spray additive manufacturing, has announced a significant milestone with the sale of a custom Titomic Kinetic Fusion® (TKF) Cold Spray System to the Center for Agile and Adaptive Additive Manufacturing (CAAAM) at the University of North Texas (UNT) for approximately AUD 1.1 million. This agreement underscores Titomic’s competitive edge in cold spray system design and implementation. The installation will support UNT’s advanced R&D initiatives, strengthen industry collaboration, and solidify its status as an innovation hub in additive manufacturing. This partnership enhances Titomic’s visibility and market presence in the U.S., aligning with its strategy to engage with leading academic institutions worldwide. Separately, Titomic has achieved a pivotal development with the approval of SAE International’s Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing (CSAM) Process Specification AMS7057. This standard, co-developed with SAE International and supported by Titomic’s technical expertise, validates the quality, performance, and reliability of its proprietary TKF technology. The AMS7057 certification is anticipated to accelerate adoption of cold spray manufacturing across highly regulated industries like aerospace, defence, and energy by streamlining certification processes and reducing barriers to entry.

The AMS7057 standard positions Titomic as a preferred partner for organisations requiring strict regulatory compliance, including potential collaborations with the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, and other government-backed programs. These opportunities are bolstered by recent achievements, such as Airbus selecting Titomic as its preferred cold spray supplier in 2023, with ongoing engagements with multiple aircraft manufacturers.

Strategically, these advancements provide a strong foundation for scaling the adoption of TKF technology globally. The integration of cold spray into the broader aerospace and defence supply chains, supported by U.S. Government initiatives like the Office of Strategic Capital, highlights the growing recognition of Titomic’s solutions as a key enabler of domestic manufacturing and technological innovation. These developments significantly enhance Titomic’s growth trajectory, offering scalable, proven solutions for critical national security and industrial applications, while expanding its commercial footprint in high-value markets.

Austal Limited (ASX: ASB)

Austal Limited (ASX: ASB) has been awarded a contract extension for the construction of two additional Evolved Cape-class Patrol Boats (ECCPB) for the Australian Border Force (ABF), valued at A$137.02 million. These new boats will increase the ABF’s fleet of Evolved Cape-class vessels to twelve, with eight already delivered. The patrol boats are essential for maritime border security, contributing to Australia’s Operation Sovereign Borders. The Evolved Cape-class Patrol Boats feature improved amenities, enhanced quality of life systems, and advanced sustainment intelligence systems, making them key assets in maritime surveillance and border patrols throughout Northern Australia. Austal has been a trusted supplier for the ABF, having previously delivered the original Cape-class Patrol Boats between 2012 and 2015.

Austal is involved in maintaining the US Navy's Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) deployed in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean. Austal has secured a US$48 million contract extension, increasing the value of its sustainment works to US$166.4 million. This maintenance contract is part of a previously awarded deal that could reach up to US$215.9 million. Work will be carried out primarily in Singapore and various locations in the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans, ensuring the operational readiness of LCS vessels deployed in these strategic regions. The work is scheduled to be completed by December 2025.

Austal has also been selected by the Australian Government to construct Landing Craft Heavy (LCH) vessels for the Australian Defence Force, based on Damen’s LST100 design. This project involves the construction of eight LCH vessels, which will be built at the Henderson Defence Precinct in Western Australia. The LCHs are designed to carry heavy military equipment such as tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, supporting a wide range of operations including logistics, troop insertion, and humanitarian assistance. The project is part of the Australian Government's commitment to continuous naval shipbuilding, with construction expected to begin in 2026, pending commercial negotiations.
