Austal Limited (ASX: ASB) is engaged in the design, manufacture and sustainment of high-performance vessels. The Company operates through two segments: USA and Australasia. The USA manufactures high performance aluminium defense vessels for the US Navy and provides training and on-going support and maintenance of these high-performance vessels to the US Navy. Australasia segment includes Australia, Philippines, Vietnam, Aulong Joint Venture and Muscat operations is combined into a single Australasia reporting segment. The Australasia business manufactures high performance vessels for markets worldwide, excluding the USA, and provides training, on-going support and maintenance for high performance vessels. It designs, constructs and supports commercial vessels, including passenger ferries, vehicle passenger ferries, offshore and windfarm vessels. It also develops and integrates vessel control and information management systems.
